Antje Duis, Sandan
Antje, born in Germany, started learning Shotokan Karate in Switzerland in the 80's. In 1983 Antje moved to Greece, where she started in 1984, still as a brown belt, training several learners. This was the headstone of Greece Shotokan Karate.
Garo Bisdikian, Shodan
Garo, started lerning Shotokan Karate in Greece in the 90´s. He became black belt in 2003 and is encouraging juniors of Greece Shotokan with his strong mentality.
Dojo Rules
Karate can be very dangerous, so proper observance of etiquette is as important to our training as learning physical techniques. Please follow the guidelines below:
Remove shoes before entering the dojo.
Do rei every time you enter or leave the dojo.
Try not to be late for class. If you are late, you should enter the dojo quietly and wait at the back of the class until you are asked by the instructor to join in. You should then do rei and join the class.
The dojo is a formal place where all participants must wear keiko-gi. Wash you keiko-gi regularly and keep it in good condition.
Remove your watch and all jewelry before practice begins. No chewing gum during training permitted.
Maintaining personal cleanliness is an act of consideration and respect for yourself and others.
Keep your finger and toe nails cut short to avoid injury to others.
No food or beverages (other than water) are permitted in the dojo during keiko.
Do not lean against the walls or sprawl with your legs stretched out. Sit in seiza or corss-legged.
No unnecessary talking during keiko.
Never leave the dojo without permission.
Report all injuries to the instructor before leaving.
Respect all dojo equipment such as kicking shields and focus mitts. They should always be nearly put away and should never be thrown around.
Pay your dojo dues. If you are unable to pay your dues on time, talk with the person in charge of dues collection.
Visitors should sit quietly at the back of the dojo.
